The Esplanade was opened in late 2009 as a high-end 'life style' mall in a similar vein to Siam Paragon, but without a major anchor tenant. The mall has a rather posh cineplex, complete with a bowling alley, but the real unique features to the mall are its ice rink and a broadway-styled theater.

The Cineplex hosted the 5th World Film Festival of Bangkok. Esplanade have entertainment such as ice skate, Cineplex, bowling, mini land education zone and parking zone.

The whole mall was tastefully decorated with traditional Thai themes, lighting & water features. There was a 2-3 storey high waterfall which fell in computer-generated patterns. Amazing. The Napalai Terrace provides a 180 deg. view of the Bangkok skyline which is great for pics.
